9. November 2025Swiss Futsal Cup Men, 1. Runde: Olympique Basel - Ajax Fribourg 2:4 (1:2)

Gegen Ajax blieb Basel zwar in drei von vier Begegnungen siegreich, aber erstens treten die Fribourger bei jedem Spiel mit einer gefühlt komplett ausgewechselten Mannschaft an, zweitens hat sich OB gegen diesen Gegner auch in den gewonnenen Spielen immer schwer getan, und drittens folgt der Cup sowieso eigenen Gesetzen, wie jeder weiss. Eines dieser Gesetze besagt zum Beispiel, dass Olympique Basel in der Startrunde ausscheidet, so war es jedenfalls bei allen bisherigen Austragungen der Fall, seit der Wettbewerb auf die Saison 2022/23 eingeführt wurde. Dieses Mal jedoch tritt Olympique nahezu in Bestbesetzung an, zwölf Akteure machen den Weg nach Küssnacht mit, von den zentralen Figuren fehlt einzig Spielertrainer Roberto Trullols, der noch in Barcelona weilt, also in jener Stadt, in der einst auch die Hand Gottes eine Zeitlang aktiv gewesen ist. Diverse kuriose Handspiele sollten auch in der heutigen Partie eine gewisse Rolle spielen, wenn auch nicht ganz von derselben Tragweite wie im WM-Viertelfinal 1986 zwischen Argentinien und England. Doch dazu später mehr. Auf Seiten der Basler rechnet man sich jedenfalls gute Chancen auf ein Weiterkommen aus, selbst wenn der Termin der zweiten Runde kurz vor Weihnachten ungünstig liegt, da unsere zahlreichen Söldner über die Festtage gerne nach Hause fahren. Von Beginn weg entwickelt sich eine ausgeglichene Begegnung, schnell wird absehbar, dass wohl Kleinigkeiten den Ausschlag geben werden. Nach drei Minuten gelingt Ajax auf einen Abpraller die Führung zum 1:0. In der siebten Minute verlässt Goalie Shevtsov den Strafraum mit dem Ball in der Hand (!), da er aufgrund der vielen Linien am Boden kurz die Orientierung verloren hat, wo dieser endet. Der fällige Freistoss wird zunächst geblockt, doch wiederum kann Fribourg den Ball per Abpraller ins Tor spedieren. Ob des Rückstands verliert Basel etwas die Geduld, mancher Ball geht relativ einfach verloren, weil man zu schnell den riskanten Pass nach vorne sucht. Hervorzuheben gilt es ein spektakuläres Handspiel (!) von Diogo Marrekito, der mit seiner Grätsche den Ball in der 15. Minute zunächst verfehlt, dann aber mit einer blitzschnellen Armbewegung nachhilft und den Ball ins Aus spediert, bevor der Angreifer zum Schuss ansetzen kann. Erstaunlich, dass die Schiedsrichter hier auf eine gelbe Karte verzichten. Der anschliessende Freistoss wird dieses Mal immerhin effektiv geblockt. In der 18. Minute kommt Olympique zum Anschlusstreffer. Daniel Coelho verwertet einen Sechsmeter, nachdem ein Ajax-Verteidiger den Ball auf der Linie mit der Hand (!) abgewehrt hat. Dafür muss der Fribourger mit Rot vom Platz. Auch nach dem Seitenwechsel bleibt die Partie eine enge Kiste. OB kommt sehr fokussiert aus der Kabine, kassiert in der 23. Minute jedoch nach einer defensiven Unachtsamkeit einen weiteren Gegentreffer. Kurzzeitig geht der Faden wieder verloren, Fribourg scheitert innerhalb einer Minute je einmal an Latte und Pfosten. Der Zwei-Tore-Rückstand hat lange Bestand, erst in der Schlussphase wird Basel wieder stärker. Kevin Rengifo scheitert mit seinem Distanzschuss an der Latte, den Abpraller versucht Asier Bandres mit der Hand (!) über die Linie zu smashen, doch der Torwart reagiert schneller und faustet den Ball weg. In der 37. Minute gelingt im Spiel 5-gege-4 dann doch noch das 2:3, Shevtsov persönlich ist erfolgreich. Worth mentioning is a spectacular handball (!) by Diogo Marrekito, who initially misses the ball with his sliding tackle in the 15th minute, but then helps himself with a lightning-fast arm movement and sends the ball out of play before the attacker can take a shot. It's surprising that the referees didn't give him a yellow card. At least the subsequent free kick was effectively blocked this time. In the 18th minute, Olympique scored their first goal. Daniel Coelho converted a six-meter penalty after an Ajax defender blocked the ball with his hand (!) on the line. The Fribourg player was sent off with a red card for this. The game remains close after the break. OB comes out of the dressing room very focused, but concedes another goal in the 23rd minute after a defensive lapse. Basel briefly loses its momentum, Fribourg hitting the crossbar and post within a minute. The two-goal deficit persists for a long time, and it is only in the final stages that Basel regains strength.
